Falls are a common safety concern in hospitals, frequently resulting in injuries and fractures among patients. Although nurses are responsible for assisting patients when they get out of bed, staff shortages and increased demands during nighttime hours often lead patients to attempt this on their own, significantly raising the risk of falls. To tackle this issue, we have designed a robotic wall art installation that serves both as an aesthetic display and a safety measure. When a fall-risk patient attempts to leave their bed, a hidden mechanism activates to distract and delay them for at least five seconds until a nurse can arrive to assist.
